The roots music band "Big John" is the amalgamation of international, multi-talented touring musicians Bobby Nicholas and Amber Dawn Nicholas along with seasoned bluegrass mainstay Carl Goodman and the versatile and accomplished double bassist Peter Pavlovsky.

Bobby and Amber met while living and playing in Nashville. After years of extensive touring, they eventually moved home to Toronto. Shortly after, the four bandmates came together and have been taking the music scene by storm ever since.

The experience Bobby brings performing as a multi-instrumentalist/singer with major acts Patty Loveless, Terri Clark, Osborne Brothers etc. and Amber, with her former band having been signed to Nashville recording label Sony/Arista, touring and playing sessions with some of the industry's top producers and musicians give "Big John" a level of polish that is apparent to all who listen. Playing iconic venues including Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, SXSW, as well as Peter's broad range playing everything from Beethoven symphonies to Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals like Phantom of The Opera, and Carl's solid right hand and years of festival performances and recordings collectively bring this band to the next level.

Unique takes and extremely tight arrangements on favourites, along with very well-crafted originals make “Big John” a must listen. With this level of musicianship and professionalism, you are without question, in for a real musical treat!
